N.A.P. International Traveling Video Festival
1996 marked the inaguration of the NAP Video Festival, an opportuntiy for artists from around the globe, involved in electronic media, to exhibit work at a several prime venues. Traditionally the Festival had its month-long premiere in Philadelphia and moved on for runs in New York City, and a number of Pennsylvania cities and other locations in the U.S. The videos were displayed in formal gallery settings, stimulating a cross-fertilization of the arts. Catagories for videos were narrative, experimental, and documentary.
Videos were selected by a panel of three internationally known jurors from works that are entered to the New Arts Video Festival. Submissions poured in from as far as Japan. Each year public screenings in 4 or more metropolitan areas were presented for best in narrative, experimental and documentary categories. All videomakers were invited to enter the competition in any of the three catagories.
The New Arts Program offers these selections for viewing at college, art centers and galleries. Please contact the New Arts Program directly for more information.
